Arete is excited to announce its expansion in the South Bronx, with two new afterschool and summer programs at P.S. 065 Mother Hale Academy & P.S. 161 Juan Ponce De Leon School!

Arete Education is proud to announce its continued growth in the South Bronx through two newly awarded COMPASS Elementary programs funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). Arete will launch new afterschool and summer programming partnerships at P.S. 065 Mother Hale Academy and P.S. 161 Juan Ponce De Leon School starting this fall.

The COMPASS initiative helps provide students with safe and enriching afterschool experiences that support academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and community collaboration. The DYCD COMPASS Elementary award will support programming for a six-year term running from August 1, 2026 through August 31, 2032. Through these partnerships, Arete will serve at least an additional 240 elementary school students annually in the Bronx. This award marks another important milestone in Arete’s ongoing commitment to expand access to impactful programming throughout New York City.
