Exploring the Future of Biotechnology: Students Participate in Genetics Day at the DNA Learning Center

On February 26, students traveled to the DNA Learning Center in Brooklyn for an immersive Genetics Day experience that brought cutting-edge biotechnology concepts to life. Through hands-on laboratory activities and interactive lessons, students explored the fascinating world of genes, enzymes, and inherited traits while gaining a deeper understanding of how genetics impacts everyday life.

Throughout the day, students also explored the fundamentals of gene therapy and investigated the science behind lactose intolerance. They built miniature bioreactors and used biotechnology techniques to create lactose-free milk, demonstrating how scientific innovation can improve health outcomes and quality of life.
